What We Do at the Haras

From breeding and young horse training to classical riding stages and guided stable visits, our work at Haras du Prélude is built around one idea: preserving the authentic craft of dressage while keeping the horse's well-being at the center of every decision.

Terms of engagement for lessons, clinics and visits

Clear definitions of what each format includes, what is expected from riders, and how our working sessions are structured. These notes remove ambiguity before you book a lesson, a clinic or a guided tour of the stables.

Private dressage lessonOne rider, one horse, one instructor. The session lasts 45 minutes and is built around your current level, whether you are preparing for a test or refining a specific movement. Work is done in the indoor arena, with a short groundwork segment included. Group groundwork clinicUp to six riders, focused on longeing, in-hand work and body awareness. Each participant works with their own horse. The clinic runs for two hours and includes a theory break. Stable visit and breeding tourA guided walk through the foaling boxes, the youngstock paddocks and the stallion barn. You will see our feeding routine, hoof care schedule and the daily health checks. The tour takes about 90 minutes and is limited to eight people. Young horse evaluationA structured assessment of a horse aged three to five, covering conformation, movement under saddle and temperament. You receive a written summary with recommendations for the next six months of training. Weekend riding intensiveTwo full days, six hours of mounted work per day, plus video review and a lunge session. Riders bring their own horse or use one of our schoolmasters. Group size is capped at four to keep feedback specific.
